Fynn's apron

One of my new years resolutions this year is when I need to give a present to someone I will either give my presents from my present cupboard or make something from my many fabrics. So far I have stuck to this plan. Although I must say I keep adding more fabric to my pile. I decided that I would make my godson Fynn an apron. I drew up this very rough drawing and ended up with this.
This is a close up of the owl, he has red sparkly buttons for eyes and I did a close zig zag so it can stand a lot of wear and tear. Only problem I ran out of thread halfway through but I found some that was close.

I lined it with this blue stars and moon fabric, I think it finishes it off nicely.

I hope he gets a lot of wear out of it. His big sister summer got a wooden toy oven for her birthday so I think they will have a lot of fun playing together with there aprons. I made one for her the other week but it wasn't quite as flash as this one. I'm a bit late in giving it too him cause his birthday was 2 weeks ago. Better late than never I say, that tends to be my motto I use a lot lately.

SILENCE ISN'T ALWAYS GOLDEN

Especially when you have to clean up the mess afterwards!
This is my favourite picture of Amelia, it just sums up her personality so cheeky and mischievous. She had got into her nappy cream.
Just a week later I found her making her own breakfast. I was feeding Holly and she was hounding me to make her some breakfast. Told her to wait but she took matters into her own hands.

I was pregnant with number 3 at the time and thought I would have a rest. Wow what a shock to find this, if I wasn't exhausted before I was definitely after this. Emma (2 1/2) thought she would make a cake. Luckily I got to her before she got the eggs!

That was a few days later when I had came into found she had broken six eggs on the kitchen floor until she had mastered the last one into a bowl and she was spooning sugar one by one into the bowl, whisking in between each spoonful. I was impressed with her cooking ability but definitely not impressed with the cleaning up afterwards. Sadly to say I didn't get a photo of that mess.

Emma aged 2 1/2, thought she was lacking a bit of colour in her face. So she discovered the world of make-up. Wow doesn't she look pretty!

When Emma was 22 months old I found her coming out of the laundry with my huge, encompassing maternity bra around her neck. Such attractive attire. She wanted to be look just like mummy.

Another escapade was when Emma was 2 years old I found her helping herself to a box of chocolates. She was in heaven until I caught her.

3 year old telling valuable life lessons to a 2 year old " always put your singlet on the right side out and neber eber take it off, neber, neber, eber, eber, eber, o-kay, farrr out". As she proceeds to puting her singlet on, inside out and then panicking about it. We got her all sorted out in the end.

When I am away the mice will play

I had to go away this weekend for my great uncles funeral. He was 87 and was a soldier in his youth. He had his funeral on ANZAC day which was a perfect day to remember him by. I took my 2 youngest to Christchurch while Steve took Emma my oldest. As you can see she really didn't want me to go!
But once I buckled her into her seat belt to go away with her father to Invercargill she felt much better. She was going on her own road trip.

Now while I was staying at the in laws, in the early hours of the morning while I was feeding Holly. Amelia made her way down to the bathroom and went through my limited make-up bag and decided she would like to put on some eyeliner just like mummy did the day before. You see I never really wear make-up but put some on for the funeral. She was watching me with great interest and wanted some on as well but of course I said "no, not today sweetheart". So she saw her chance the next morning and ran for it. I knew she was being a bit too quiet.
I think she did a smashing job for a 2 year old. I am quite impressed. I think she was going for the low mono brow!

Amelias second birthday

This is my attempt to cover up my disaster cake. It was suppose to be a 2 tier cake but I stuffed up the icing and there was no going back. Just before I was gonna throw out the cake(2 hours before people arrived) I thought to myself how can I redeem this, what does this cake look like and to me it looked like a hat. So I went from there. I think it turned out alright in the end.
This is the birthday girl playing with one of her new toys.

Although I had only had 3 hours sleep we all had a great time!
